HARBOR SPRINGS — Bouncing back from their first loss of the season last week in Cadillac the Lady Elks have notched a pair of shutout conference wins to remain undefeated in LMC play.

On Monday in Harbor Springs the Elks scored four unanswered goals in the second half for a 5-0 win over the Rams. The Elks led 1-0 at halftime on an early goal by Kendall Standfest off a pass from Lauren Bingham.

Elk Rapids coach Andrea Krakow told her team during the intermission they were lacking intensity and the Elks responded. Seven minutes into the second half Bingham received a pass on the outside from Sara Sanchez Gomez, then drove to the middle and sent a rifle shot past the keeper. It was seven minutes later when Bingham took a crossing pass from Mary Gregorski and sent the ball to the back of the net for a 3-0 lead. Minutes later Bingham got the hat trick, scoring off a pass from Elizabeth Pike. The final score came from Allison Frank, notching her first varsity goal off a pass from Bingham. Jorja Jenema had three saves in net.
