Lady Ironmen snap losing streak with first win of season

INDIAN RIVER — The Lady Ironmen closed out the 2019 part of the girls basketball schedule with their first win of the season, downing Inland Lake 40-38 on the road Friday night.

The loss was the first of the season for the Lady Bulldogs and gave Mancelona their first Ski Valley Conference win.

“This was a back and forth game all night,” said Mancelona varsity coach Rob Wilcox. “We really needed this win. It will give us some confidence and will show the team what we are working on in practice can pay off. That long bus ride back is a lot more cheerful with a win, too.”
