CENTRAL LAKE — Ellsworth has been in control of the boys basketball rivalry with Central Lake for the past few years and that continued on Wednesday, Dec. 22 as the Lancers cruised to a 61-20 win.

An 18-4 first quarter got the Lancers off on the right foot and they squashed Central Lake’s chances to get back in the game with a 23-0 run in the second quarter for a 41-4 halftime lead.  Ellsworth made it a 55-10 game heading into the fourth quarter and Central Lake was able to close the gap a bit with a strong finish.

Kelan Pletcher led the Lancers with 26 points, while chipping in eight rebounds, four steals and three assists. Brayden Steenwyk was Ellsworth’s other double-figure scorer with 11 points to go with five rebounds and five assists. Also for Ellsworth, Patrick Puroll had six points, eight boards and five steals, Jamal Cebulski had four points, six rebounds and seven assists; and Jacob Jenuwine had eight points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals.
