Mancelona’s McClure earns cross country all-state
BROOKLYN — Mancelona senior Tyler McClure ended his cross country career on a high note, earning Division 3 all-state honors after finishing 16th overall at the state championships.
McClure ran a time of 16:38 to put him among the all-state honorees. The top 30 individuals were given the all-state accolades.
McClure was one of four local runners who ran in the Division 3 race. Elk Rapids had a trio of runners compete, including Lachlan Beebe and Charlie Ward on the boys side, and Sarah Zamaitas on the girls side. Beebe finished 99th in a time of 17:43, while Ward was 161st in 18:27. Zamaitas ended up 183rd in a time of 22:54.
