Nice catch

Central Lake held its eighth annual Ice Fishing Tournament on Saturday on Antrim County’s upper chain of lakes. A total of 330 participants took part in the event, which was the largest number to date. The turnout was a lot larger than event coordinators Maggie Maul and Rob Tyler were expecting.

“We thought our turnout would be smaller due to the pandemic,” said Maul. “It also turns out that people were just dying for something to do, and the ice fishing tournament fit the bill.  It was outside and spread over the Upper Chain of Lakes.  It was a moment of normalcy in this pandemic.”
