Proposed Central Lake police millage approved
CENTRAL LAKE — In the only decision facing voters in Antrim County in the Tuesday, Nov. 2 election, voters in the village of Central Lake approved a proposal for a four-year police millage with a vote of 103 in favor, 75 against.
The 3-mil proposal, which will be levied for the first time next year, will provide approximately $80,000 in 2022 for Central Lake's law enforcement department. The funds will supplement the village's existing law enforcement budget of approximately $91,000 a year.
Approval of the millage means village property owners will pay approximately $150 a year in additional taxes for at least the next four years.
