Railroad Square gets a new face
KALKASKA — Construction crews and specialty contractors have been working tirelessly to complete the Railroad Square project before winter arrives.
Trees have been planted, sidewalks poured, Maple Street improvements and additional parking are driveable and a new face adorns the brick clock tower sitting just south of the trout fountain in downtown Kalkaska.
Railroad Square will soon be the permanent home for the Village’s farmer’s market, food truck court and four-season pavilion with restrooms and an incubator kitchen.
As part of the overall revamp of the space façade, improvements are also being made to the Kalkaska County Historical Museum. New LED lighting will soon be installed, the building has been repainted and some of the windows are uncovered once again.
