Registration underway for annual Fife Lake Ice Fishing Derby

FIFE LAKE — While most people are celebrating the warmth of the holiday season, hundreds of fishing enthusiasts hope to soon be celebrating on the frozen waters of Fife Lake during the upcoming Fife Lake Ice Fishing Derby.

Participants will be angling for a bevy of cash prizes in the annual fishing contest slated for Saturday, Feb. 1.

According to Kathy Gwizdala, coordinator for the ice fishing contest, registration for the event started Dec. 2 and will continue through 6 p.m. on Jan. 31.
