Road commission continuing process on permanent fix to County Road 571
COLDSPRINGS TWP. — The good news is a quarter-mile section of County Road 571 was recently opened to traffic after being closed for nearly a year.
The even better news is Kalkaska County Road Commission officials continue to work toward a more permanent fix to the issue of water swamping the roadway, one of the busiest county roads in Kalkaska County.
The KCRC closed County Road 571 to through traffic in April 2020 as water from adjacent ponds swamped a low point in the roadway between Twin Lake Road and Starvation Lake Road, about a mile south of the border with Antrim County.
