Holiday Gift Fair

The Bellaire Chamber of Commerce will hold its Holiday Gift Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 at Bellaire High School. The event will include more than 60 artists and crafters, with raffles taking place throughout the day. Attendees are asked to enter through the east parking lots on Victory Lane. Halloween Open House at Meadow Brook

Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility will hold its annual Halloween Community Open House, from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31. MMR Halloween Open House

Mobile Medical Response (MMR) will hold a Halloween Open House on Thursday, Oct. 31 from 5-8 p.m. at the Elk Rapids Fire Department, 209 Bridge St. All ages are invited to enjoy free candy, coffee, cider and donuts.

Lodge to host Haunted House

The Central Lake Masonic Lodge 426 will host a Haunted House beginning at 5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31. The haunted house is being designed and decorated by the high school’s art class. All are invited to stop by and enjoy the festivities.

CL Trick or Treating

Halloween will be celebrated in the Village of Central Lake on Thursday, Oct. 31 from 5-8 p.m., and will include free donuts and cider (courtesy of the village) in front of Bachmann’s Store beginning at 5 p.m.

Fall Family Fun Day

A free Fall Family Fun Day will be held Saturday, Oct. 26 from 3-5 p.m. at Ellsworth High School. The event will include: candy, face painting, games, and more. The event is sponsored by the Ellsworth Wesleyan Church and Ellsworth Christian Reformed Church.

Camp Halloween Bash

YMCA Camp Hayo-Went-Ha will host its annual Halloween Bash on Saturday, Oct. 26. The event will include a Fall Family Festival, followed later by the Torch Lake Trail of Terror. The Fall Family Festival runs from 1-5 p.m. and offers an opportunity to enjoy the zip line, climbing wall, archery, fall crafts, hay rides, face painting, scavenger hunt and lunch. Cost is $6 per person or $20 for four.

Fall Closet to Closet Giveaway

Church in the Hills is sponsoring its “Fall Closet to Closet” Clothing Giveaway on Saturday Oct. 26 at the Forest Home Township Hall, 321 North Bridge St. in Bellaire. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pick out gently used winter clothing for men, women and children in all sizes. There is no charge or income guidelines required. Everyone is welcome.

Antrim County Women’s Expo

Pumpkins to launch at Wellington Farm

Fall is in the air and pumpkins are set to take flight at Wellington Farm USA. Punkin-Chunkin at the 60-acre living history complex is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19-20. An addition to the festivities this season will be “Pumpkin Bowling.”Wellington Farm USA is a living history complex open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and Sundays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is located at 6944 S. Military Road southwest of Grayling.

Harvest Potluck Dinner

A Harvest Potluck Dinner will be held at the Alba Sportsman’s Club on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 5-8 p.m. All attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to pass. The event will include door prizes, a 50/50 raffle and gun raffle. The club is located at 5225 County Road 620 in Alba.

Central Fall Fest

The Central Lake Chamber of Commerce will present “Central Fall Fest” on Saturday, Oct. 19 from noon to 4 p.m. Activities scheduled during the event include: sidewalk sales, live entertainment, cider and donuts, a bounce house, fall fruits and veggie stand, pumpkin painting, smart phone photography contest, a bonfire and more. Additionally, a Chili Cook Off is planned.

Owl Prowl at GRNA

Join the Grass River Natural Area at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18-19 to learn about the GRNA’s local owls with an indoor presentation, followed by a night hike in search of the unique birds. Participants must be able to hike on uneven trails in the dark for about a mile. Please bring a light if you have one. Cost for the 1.5-hour program is $5.

Al-Anon Meeting

Al-Anon meets at noon every Tuesday at the Bellaire Community United Methodist Church, 105 Bridge St. in the upstairs library (use the side door). The group’s Tuesday meetings are now held year-round. This is a support group for family and friends whose lives are affected by the alcohol or substance abuse of loved ones.
