The 2020 Festival of Trees is being held from Friday, Nov. 13 through Saturday, Nov. 21 in the Northland Plaza in Kalkaska at the corner of M-72 and US 131.
Books ‘n Brie Book Club will meet on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 2:30 p.m. This is free of charge. Enjoy the company of fellow book lovers while discussing “The Paragon Hotel” by Lyndsay Faye. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.

At Grass River Natural Area learn about local owls and their conservation with an introductory presentation and then head out for a night hike in search of these amazing birds. Participants should be comfortable walking outdoors at night for about one mile on uneven trails. Bring a light. The cost is $10 per person and is limited to small groups.
Join Michigan United Conservation Club’s On the Ground program as they plant native trees in Kalkaska near Johnson Lake this fall. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to help plant, mulch and fence 90 mature soft mast-producing trees to enhance habitat for wildlife.
Bellaire Student Activities is holding a Community Tailgate BBQ on Friday, Oct. 9 from 4-6 p.m.
There will be free food, games and a DJ to help celebrate Homecoming 2020. Community members are invited to vote on the hall decorating done by students. Attendees are asked to socially distance and wear a mask.

The Bellaire Chamber of Commerce is holding the Gatsby Gala Auction from Thursday, Oct. 8 through Thursday, Oct. 15.
The auction will be virtual and goes live on Oct. 8 and ends on Oct. 15 at 9 p.m.
Auction items include trips, golf and wine packages, dinner certificates, spa gifts, gift baskets from local businesses and much more
