To commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11 the Central Lake District Library will have a memorial poster walk on the lawn of the library starting Wednesday, Sept. 1 thru Monday, Sept. 13 day and night. The educational exhibition recounts the events of September 11, 2001, through the personal stories of those who witnessed and survived the attacks.
The Bellaire Garden Club will have a lecture at the Bellaire Library with noted master designer, Mary Nelvin, from Traverse City on Thursday, Aug. 26at 10:30 a.m.

In partnership with the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council, the Intermediate Lake Association will be co-sponsoring a free mobile boat washing activity at Thurston Park boat launch in Central Lake on Sunday, Aug. 22 from noon to 4 p.m. and again on Sunday, Sept. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Bellaire Museum & DDA Room will be hosting a Shirley Gordon Day at the Museum on Monday, Aug. 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a program at 1 p.m. at the Bellaire Museum. CDC guidelines will be observed. This is in memory of Shirley Gordon (1935-2020) and is sponsored by the Museum Board and friends.
The Intermediate Lake Association is having its annual meeting on Saturday, Aug. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Thurston Park Pavilion off State Street in Central Lake. There will be a short business meeting, election of directors and a presentation on the status of the ongoing lake level study.
