The Central Lake Fire & Rescue Auxiliary will be hosting its annual Crockpot Chili Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the fire station on M-88 from 5-7 p.m. by donation. Several varieties of chili, cornbread or biscuits, dessert and drinks will be available. All proceeds will benefit the auxiliary, which supports the fire department and fire prevention education.Take out will be available.
The Village of Kalkaska hours for trick or treating is on Sunday, Oct. 31 from 5-8 p.m. in the Village and has asked that participating residents leave their outside lights on while distributing candy.

The Central Lake District Library will be holding a Halloween Story Walk starting on Friday, Oct. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 31 on the lawn at the Blue Pelican Inn. The story walk is a fun activity for families to read a book while walking in a park or trail. Story walks promote literacy, physical activity and community involvement. Grass River Natural Area is hosting the family friendly Autumnfest on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Grass River Center at 6500 Alden Hwy, Bellaire.
The Central Lake Chamber of Commerce will be having a fall festival on Saturday, Oct. 16 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Central Lake Chamber cabin. There will be a chili cook off, beverage tent with beer and cider, live music, hot dogs and food. A corn hole tournament will be held with registration starting at 11 a.m.
The Antrim County Fair is having a harvest festival at the fairgrounds at Craven Park in Bellaire on Saturday, Oct. 16 4-6pm. There will be chili, donuts, hot cocoa, ice cream and more. Also a petting zoo, scarecrow making, crafts and games will be available for all to enjoy.
The OMFA Fiddlers’ Jamboree will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Kalkaska Senior Center, 303 S. Coral Street. Fiddlers perform from 1:30-4 p.m., Circle of Friends (other, non-electric instruments) from 4-5 p.m. Square and Round dancing begins at 5 p.m. This is a free event but donations are welcome.
