The Alden District Library will be having Mah Jongg every Tuesday starting on Jan. 4 from 1 - 4 p.m. People of all skill levels are invited to play. The Friends of the Alden District Library will meet on Thursday, December 16 at 9:30 a.m. social time and 10 a.m. for the meeting. The Antrim County Community Choir is back with its holiday concert “Music for the Season: It’s About Time!”. The concert will be held on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 4 p.m. at Church in the Hills, 6401 Shanty Creek Road in Bellaire. Masks are requested for those who are not fully vaccinated.
Christmas in Kalkaska Holiday Craft Show will be on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kalkaska Middle School. Use the Dresden Street parking lot. The gym, lobby and hall will be filled with crafters and vendors selling a variety of holiday gift giving and home decorating items and more.
The Bellaire Rotary Club will be having a can and bottle drive on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 4Front Credit Union in Bellaire at the ATM location. If anyone has returnables and would like someone from the Rotary Club to pick them up contact 231-377-2002. All proceeds to benefit Bellaire Rotary’s Good Works Programs.
The library is participating in Light Up the Night on Saturday, Dec.4 beginning at 11 a.m. with “A Mice Christmas” featuring local author and poet Leland James. This is a fun family centered activity for all ages. From 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. the library will have an ornament making activity with all supplies provided by the Bellaire Chamber of Commerce.
