Join the Kalkaska Conservation District for a weeknight hike on Wednesday, March 15 at 6:00 p.m. Come join us for an evening hike at the Upper Manistee Headwaters Preserve, Grass Lake Road in Kalkaska. This is a 2.25 miles hike snow or shine unless there is severe winter weather. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

Bellaire Art is Sweet will be on Saturday, March 4 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Bellaire. Stroll through Downtown Bellaire to see various local artist exhibits in local businesses. Purchase tickets to taste sweets made by local bakers.

The Bellaire Masons are having a pancake breakfast the last Saturday of each month at the Masonic Lodge in Bellaire. This month is on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and includes pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, coffee and juice.

42nd Annual Sno-Blast Festival

Central Lake Ice Fishing Tournament

The Central Lake Ice Fishing Tournament will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration fee is $10. Registration locations are at Lakeside Corner Store, NuStar Insurance, Central Lake Hardware, CL Tavern in Central Lake and Bellaire Bait and Tackle in Bellaire. Tournament is followed by awards, door prize drawing and 50/50 drawing at Thurston Park.

Euchre Night

On Saturday, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. at the Banks Township Hall in Ellsworth the Chain of Lakes Women’s Club will be having an evening of Euchre and fun. Refreshments, prizes and a raffle will be offered. All proceeds will go toward scholarships for area students and support for local non-profit organizations.

Valentine Theme Spaghetti Dinner

Carly’s Cardboard Classic

The Carly’ Cardboard Classic Snow Fun Day has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 11 due to the lack of snow coverage on Carly’s Hill and the predicted cold temperatures. It will be held at Springfield Park and Recreation Center at 11 a.m. Hope everyone will come out and enjoy.

Ice Fishing Derby

The annual Fife Lake $1,000 Ice Fishing Derby is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 4 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m, The cost is $35 per angler of 18 years and older. Young anglers 17 years old and under is $10. On Friday, Feb. 3 the price goes up to $50 per adult angler and $20 for young anglers and are available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Formal Flip

There will be a formal flip held on Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Bellaire High School from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Drop off your gently used dress clothing and dresses anytime prior to the event and receive a ticket for each item you turn in. Bring your ticket back on Saturday between 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for first choice on new to you items.
