Artifact Identification Day & Book Launch at Samels Farm
Renowned archaeologist, Dr. Charles Cleland, will identify your local artifacts during Samels Farm’s inaugural Artifact Identification Day on Sunday, July 17 from 2-5 p.m. The public is invited to bring up to five artifacts and any related information to the farm located at 8298 Skegemog Point Rd., Williamsburg, for examination at no charge. Donations will be accepted. This event is hosted by the Samels Family Heritage Society which will also release its new book, The Fascinating Archaeology of Skegemog Point and The Samels Farm. The full color hard cover 72 page book describes discoveries by the Samels family as well as those by Dr. Cleland and his team, some dating back over 11,000 years.
