Bellaire football beats Engadine 20-14

Going into this game, one fact was certain, the Eagles would be victorious as the Bellaire Eagles won their home opener 20-14 over the Engadine Eagles. A terrific “all-around” game from senior Corperryale Somers and a lot of help from his teammates (despite some adversity), helped Bellaire earn the victory last Thursday evening. Bellaire never trailed in this game, but the ending was not certain until late in the final quarter.

Bellaire head coach Jeff Hebden said, “we are still a work in progress, I am very proud how these kids persevered in a close game throughout, especially after losing Aiden Balko in the first half to injury”. Balko is Bellaire’s starting quarterback, and at press time, it is not known how long Balko will be out. However, in his absence, coach Hebden had to be pleased how his team performed with their “next man up” mentality.
