Blazer soccer team starts season with a win

The Kalkaska varsity soccer team started the season on the road with a win over Reed City, 7-0, on Aug. 19.

“From the opening whistle, we set the tone, controlled the middle of the field, and stuck to our game plan,” stated coach Josh Wakefield. “After jumping out to an early lead, we headed into halftime up 4-0.”

Scott Urquhart led the way with three goals, while Asher Guggemos and Kaden Fisher each scored two goals in the win.
