Household Hazardous Waste Collection
The Kalkaska Conservation District is hosting its first annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Kalkaska Middle School back parking lot off of Dresden Street in Kalkaska. A complete list of accepted items is available on the website: kalkaskaconservation.org.
Residents of Kalkaska County are able to drop off up to 100 pounds of waste at no cost. Additional waste will be accepted at a cost of 50 cents per pound over 100 pounds.
Reservations are strongly encouraged. Reserve a time online on the website under the tab for ‘events,’ or call the office at 231-258-3307 and leave a message with your name and desired time on Sept. 9 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
