NMC: Michigan Trees in Winter

Learn how to identify Michigan trees during the winter season at Michigan Trees in Winter, taking place Friday, Jan. 16, from 1-3 p.m. at Northwestern Michigan College (NMC). Participants will gain hands-on skills for identifying trees by examining bark, buds, and branching patterns using real specimens collected from Grass River Natural Area, along with photographs and field guides. The class will cover a variety of woody plants, including broadleaf trees, shrubs, and evergreens. Registration will be available through NMC Extended Education.
