Making Maple Syrup
Join NMC for “The Science of Making Maple Syrup” on Thursday, Feb. 26, from 1–4 p.m. at GRNA, with registration through NMC Extended Education. Did you know the U.S. produces approximately 4 million gallons of maple syrup annually—and that making it yourself can be both rewarding and cost-effective? This program explores the art and science of maple sugaring, covering tree identification, traditional and modern tapping methods, required equipment, and guidance for small-scale DIY projects. The session will begin indoors with a presentation and conclude with a guided walk on the trails to see maple tapping in action.
