Household Hazardous Waste Collection

The annual HHW event in Bellaire is July 25, from 8 a.m. until noon at the middle school parking lot on Forest Home Ave. Accepted items with no charge include batteries, chemicals (cleaners, pesticides, gasoline, etc.), fluorescent lights, fire extinguishers, and oil-based paints. There is a charge for electronics and latex paint. Appliances are not accepted. Volunteers are needed. Call 231-533-8363 to help out.
