Annual Veterans Recognition Luncheon

The Annual Veterans Recognition Luncheon at the Kalkaska Senior Center will be held at 11 a.m. sharp on Friday, Nov. 10, with a moment of silence and special program to follow. The luncheon is open to veterans, spouses, widowed spouses and active duty military members, as well as general public.

ECS to host Veterans Program

Ellsworth Community School will be hosting its annual Veterans Day Program on Friday, Nov. 10 from 9-10 a.m. to honor all veterans of the Armed Forces. This program is a community event, open to the public. All veterans and their guests are welcome. All community members are also invited to join with the effort to celebrate and pay respect to our veterans. Seniors, senior groups, senior homes, veteran organizations, civil servants, as well as police and emergency personnel are also invited.

Bingo at Community Center

The ASI Community Center and Park in Bellaire will host its last Bingo Night of the year on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 102 Maple St. located directly behind the COA Senior Center. The doors open at 5 p.m. and gaming starts promptly at 6:15 p.m. Attendees must be 18 or older to play. Call Bryan at 231-350-8835 for details.

Sight-In Days for all hunters

Tuesday, November 7, 2017 - 10:00am to Tuesday, November 14, 2017 - 3:00pm

The annual Chain O’Lakes Sportsman’s Club Sight-In Days program will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 7 and run through Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The club will provide targets, spotting scopes and experienced instructors to assist hunters. Cost is $5 per gun. The club is located three miles west of the stoplight in Mancelona, just off M-88, east a quarter-mile on Peterson Road. For more information visit the website at colsc.org.

Holiday Gift Fair

The Bellaire Chamber of Commerce will hold its Holiday Gift Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at Bellaire High School. The event will include more than 60 artists and crafters, with raffles taking place throughout the day. Career Expo in Kalkaska

A Career Expo for high school students will be held Friday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at Kalkaska High School, 109 N. Birch St. Students from six local high schools will have the opportunity to explore a variety of businesses and companies that correlate with the Northwest Michigan career pathways and growing industry sectors.
