Wild Orchid Hike

All are invited to join Grass River Natural Area Education Director James Dake from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, June 14 in an exclusive presentation and off-trail expedition to see rare orchids and other unique plants, like carnivorous pitcher and sundews, on lesser known areas of the GRNA. Space is limited for the adults’ only hike. Participants must be able to hike on some uneven terrain for the outdoor portion. Cost is $10 per person. To find out more, visit grassriver.org.

Bingo at Community Center

Bingo at Community Cente
The ASI Community Center and Park in Bellaire will host Bingo on Wednesday, June 12 at 102 Maple St. The doors open at 5 p.m. and gaming starts promptly at 6:15 p.m. Attendees must be 18 or older to play. Call Bryan at 231-350-8835 for additional information. Bingo games held on the second Wednesday of each month, April through November.

Central Lake Car Show

The 7th Annual Central Lake Car Show will be held rain or shine Saturday, June 8 at Sage Park in downtown Central Lake. Registration on the day of the show begins at 8 a.m. with the event starting at 10 a.m. The popular show (free for spectators) will include trophies, door prizes and live entertainment by Kenny Thompson. Munson Hospice Support Group – Kalkaska

The Kalkaska Munson Hospice Support Group meets at 11 a.m. on first Friday of every month at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center’s Conference Room B, 419 S. Coral St. Join a friendly environment where grief and loss is understood. Share your story and learn from others. All are welcome and there is no registration needed.

ER Library to host guest speaker

The Elk Rapids District Library will welcome Eric Hemenway, director of archives and records for the Little Traverse Band of the Odawa Indians, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6 for a presentation on the lives of Native Americans in the Elk Rapids area, from 1900 to 1960.
