Strawberry Social, Community Open House

A Strawberry Social and Community Open House will be held Sunday, July 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center’s Stone House Education Center and new medical pavilion.

Concert at EJ Bandshell

The mother and daughter duo of Mary Anne Rivers and Elizabeth Rivers, along with longtime friends Patrick Niemisto and Norm Wheeler known as “Family Reunion,” will be performing at the East Jordan Bandshell on Friday, July 12. Evening Stroll and Farmers Market

The Village of Alden will hold its regular Evening Stroll on Thursday, July 11. The events are held from 6-8 p.m. every Thursday throughout the summer in downtown Alden. The weekly festivities include live entertainment, activities, evening shopping and a farmers market from 4-7 p.m. (at Tennis Court Park).

Puppet production at the Alden District Library

The Alden District Library will host the Stevens Puppets – “Wizard of Oz”: Thursday, July 11, from 11 a.m. to noon. Stevens Puppets will bring this favorite tale to life with hand-carved wooden marionettes and a familiar musical score. Mancelona’s Summer Celebration Concert Series will kick off with “Trending: Classic” performing on Tuesday, July 9 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Triangle Park in Mancelona. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. The concert is free and sponsored by the Mancelona Chamber of Commerce.

Grand opening of Cellar 1914

Fireworks, waterslide

The Ellsworth-St. Clair Lake Fireworks celebration will take place Friday, July 5. The event will include music/DJ beginning at 3 p.m., Freedom Salutes begin at 5:15 p.m., boat parade at 8:30 and the fireworks over St. Clair Lake in Ellsworth at 10:30 p.m.
The following day Saturday, July 6, the Banks Township Fire Department will host a kids’ waterslide from 4-6 p.m. (originally scheduled during last month’s Pig Roast).

Shanty Creek Freedom Fest

Shanty Creek Resorts will host Freedom Fest, beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 3 at Summit Mountain.
