Blooms and Birds: Wildflower Walk

Go for a relaxing stroll on the trails with Grass River Natural Area docent Julie Hurd (each week through August), beginning at 10 a.m. to find and identify the unique wildflowers at the GRNA. Along the way the group will listen and look for the birds that call Grass River home. This is a two-hour program and donations are appreciated. To find out more, visit grassriver.org.

Tractor Show at Wellington Farm

The Wellington Antique Tractor and Engine Club will host its annual Tractor and Engine Show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 9-11 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day) at the living history farm near Grayling. The family friendly event will include demonstrations, games and tractor pulls for the kids and a tractor parade each day. Admission is $5 a day. Wellington Farm, USA is located at 6944 S. Kalkaska Street Fest and Sidewalk Sales

Evening Stroll and Farmers Market

The Village of Alden will hold its regular Evening Stroll on Thursday, Aug. 8. The events are held from 6-8 p.m. every Thursday throughout the summer in downtown Alden. The weekly festivities include live entertainment, activities, evening shopping and a farmers market from 4-7 p.m. (at Tennis Court Park).
