The Central Lake Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Window Night celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 4. The event will feature a host of activities including: Business Window Lighting Contest, Lioness Bake & Craft Sale, Lions KidSight (free vision) Screening, food pantry and pet food drives, tree lighting and live reindeer, gingerbread house decorating and kids’ crafts, special merchant discounts, along with a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The Village of Alden will host its Old-Fashion Christmas Celebration on Saturday, Nov. 30 beginning at 5 p.m. The festivities will start with a bonfire, caroling and Community Tree Lighting at the Posey Patch; Santa will then lead everyone to The Depot for more fun.

Al-Anon meets at noon every Tuesday at the Bellaire Community United Methodist Church, 105 Bridge St. in the upstairs library (use the side door). The group’s Tuesday meetings are now held year-round. This is a support group for family and friends whose lives are affected by the alcohol or substance abuse of loved ones.
The 36th Annual YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha Camps Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24 (doors open at 12:15 p.m.) at the camp’s Rode Dining Hall in Kresge Lodge, located at 919 N. East Torch Lake Drive in Central Lake. This is a fundraising event for the camp.

The Friends of the Bellaire Library will hold its 6th annual Silent Auction beginning Friday, Nov. 22 and concluding on Saturday, Dec. 7 during the Light Up the Night event in downtown Bellaire. Stop by the library on the 22nd to view the auction items and start bidding. Many of the items are already wrapped and ready for gift giving.
The Antrim Conservation District is currently hosting a new Bellaire Winter Farmer & Artisan Market on Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon at 4820 Stover Road in Bellaire. Local farmers and artisans are slated to offer products throughout the winter months. The market will be closed on Nov. 29 and Dec. 27, and will run through May 22, 2020 as long as there is sufficient public interest to make it a successful venture for the farmers and artisans.

“About Boating Safety” is an eight-hour class for novice recreational boaters ages 12 and older. The class meets in two sessions: Thursday, Nov. 21 from 5:30-9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
“The Open Door,” a Christian Coffee House, will host free gospel music concerts on the first and third Saturdays of each month (through December), beginning at 7 p.m., 951 Mill St. in East Jordan. The Meadow Brook Resident Council will hold its Annual Holiday Sale, “Browse the Bazaar” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 in Meguzee Hall, offering affordable gift-giving ideas from area artisans. A raffle, bake sale and lunch counter will also be offered throughout the day. All profits from the event and raffle (for a new 55-inch flat screen TV) will benefit the Resident Council.
