Sportsmen’s Banquet

The Eastport Sportsmen Committee is having a sportsmen’s banquet on Saturday, Feb. 29 at Shanty Creek Resort. Doors open at 5 p.m. Join us for a delicious dinner. There will be several vendors, thousands of dollars in prizes and an incredible grand prize drawing. The keynote speaker for this event is Jimmy Gretzinger, television host of Michigan Out of Doors. Tickets are $42 for adults; and kids ages 8-12 are $20. Tickets can be purchased at eastportbc.org.

Bellaire Art in Ice

Winter Homeschool Program

Join us for a morning of our woodland and wetland curriculum designed for homeschool families from 10 a.m.-noon. We will have class rotations focusing on winter ecology — looking at how animals survive winter. Students may be divided into groups by age. You must preregister for this program. The Ellsworth Lioness Club is holding a Euchre night at the Banks Township Hall at 6503 Center Street at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22. Cost is $10 per person. Valentine’s Ski Night

Bring your valentine for an evening ski lit by luminaries on Grass River Natural Area’s groomed ski trails from 7-9 p.m. Cost is $5 per person. There will be a warm campfire at the Center pavilion and the heated building will be open. Inside there will be hot cocoa, tea and chocolates, along with a bonfire on the trail during the ski. Bring a headlamp and skis. Come anytime during the two-hour ski.

Community Snowsnake

The second annual Community Snowsnake is being held on Friday, Feb. 7 from 4:30-7 p.m. at Elk Rapids’ Glowicki Field. Elk Rapids Indigenous Youth invites everyone to this free family event. Snowsnake is an indigenous winter game played on a track made of packed snow. Fun for all ages. Prizes provided by local Elk Rapids businesses.
