Virtual Outdoor Sportsmen’s Banquet 21

There will be a virtual outdoor Sportsmen’s Banquet on Saturday, March 13 starting at 5:45 p.m. due to COVID restrictions. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at Eastport Baptist Church or Jay’s Sporting Goods in Gaylord. A portion of your ticket will go to help the needy in our area through Good Samaritan Family Services.

The Alden District Library and Friends will be having an Outdoor Family Fun Day on Saturday, March 6 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 1-2:30 p.m. at Helena Township Tennis Court Park in Alden.

Diabetes Workshop

An online diabetes workshop will be conducted by Michigan State University Extension Service with help from the Central Lake Lions Club. Through the Lions Club International Foundation grant, MSU will present via Zoom three, six-week interactive seminars designed to help teach more about and better manage the disease. This is free of charge to all Michigan residents.

The Village of Central Lake is sponsoring the Central Lake Upper Chain Ice Fishing Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 13. You may pre-register at Central Lake Corner Store, Central Lake Tavern, NuStar Insurance, Alden Lumber in Central Lake or Captain’s Choice Marine and Bellaire Bait & Tackle in Bellaire.

The Alden District Library will be hosting an outdoor family fun day on Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Tennis Court Park in Alden from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 1-2:30 p.m. This event is free of charge. There will be interactive story walk, DIY snow sculptures, naturalist activity by Grass River staff, bonfire, snacks, kids’ bag of books sale.
