Torch Lake Whitefish Fest Alden is holding a Torch Lake White Fish Fest on Saturday & Sunday, June 12-13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the Alden Depot Park. The Alden Men’s Club is accepting donations for its July 31 Rummage Sale on Saturday, June 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Alden United Methodist Church garage on Helena Street. They will only accept saleable itemsno appliances, computers or old style tv’s. The proceeds from these sales will support six food pantries in the Antrim & Kalkaska counties. Quality Thyme Garden Club is having its plant sale on Friday, June 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until sold out. The plant sale will be in Northland Foods parking lot. Perennial plants for sale are all by donation. All funds help support the garden club mission and projects.
The Ellsworth Pig Roast Parade will be on Saturday, June 19 starting at 11 a.m. Registration and line-up will be at the Ellsworth High School Parking Lot, 9467 Park St at 10 a.m. This year’s them is Pigs and Paddle: A Paddle Through Time.
The Kalkaska Conservation District is holding summer weeknight hikes series, beginning with a three-mile hike on the North Country Trail on Wednesday, June 16 at 5:30 p.m. The hike, a 2-3 mile out and back hike, will help toward their Hike 100 Challenge goal. Look for District event signs on Island Lake Road/Airport Road in Kalkaska.
The Central Lake Chamber of Commerce will be having their annual dinner and silent auction on Saturday, June 12 from 4-9 p.m. at the Central Lake Pavilion. Brighter Day Band will be the entertainment. There will be a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. Cocktail hour is from 4:15-5:30 p.m. with wine and cider by Cellar 1914 and beer by Central Lake Chamber. Dinner is at 5:30 p.m.
