Free Ice Cream Social

Central Lake Grace Community Church is sponsoring a free ice cream social with games, prizes, face painting and special musical guests, The Bartsch Family. Come join the fun on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 13 from 2-4 p.m. at the new Central Lake downtown pavilion on M-88.

Ribbon Cutting

Ellsworth Community Square Ribbon Cutting, Reception & Donor Recognition will be held Wednesday, Aug. 10 from 5:30-7 p.m. Enjoy free refreshments while being entertained by the Drawbridge Ukulele Band.

Tractor and Engine Show

Friday, August 5, 2022 - 9:00am to Sunday, August 7, 2022 - 5:00pm

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 5, 6 and 7 the Wellington Tractor and Engine Club will host their annual tractor and engine show. Visitors will be able to observe antique tractors, antique gasoline engines and a wide variety of antique farm machinery still in operation. There will also be an operating steam engine.

Kalkaska County Veterans Appreciation Night

The Kalkaska County Department of Veterans Affairs, with support from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency is sponsoring Veterans Appreciation Night. The IPRA World Championship Rodeo will be on Friday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. and Motors and Mayhem will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6 at 5 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Cookouts at the Knowles Museum

The Central Lake Historical Society will be hosting a series of Friday evening cookouts at the Knowles Museum on the first and third Friday of the month beginning Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. and will run through Sept. They will be serving Hot off the Grill hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixings. You can BYOB or not plus a finger food or a dish to pass.

Silent Art Auction

The Friends of the Kalkaska County Library will be holding a silent Art Auction from Monday, Aug. 1 through Thursday, Aug. 18. Amazing art from local creatives will be on display at the Kalkaska County Library during regular business. Bidding ends at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18. All proceeds of this fundraiser will benefit the new library building fund.
