Household Hazard Waste

Antrim Conservation District will be having their last Household Hazardous Waste Day for 2022 on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 8 a.m, to 12 p.m, sharp at 319 E. Lincoln in Mancelona. For more information go to www.AntrimCD.com.

Final Season “Hot Off The Grill”

Central Lake Area Historical Society will be holding the season’s final “Hot Off The Grill” cookout and get together at the Knowles Museum on Friday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to join us, bring a bag of chips or a plate of cookie, something simple to enjoy with hamburgers and hot dogs. Donations will be accepted.

Memorial Bridge Walk

The Friends of the Library at Bellaire Public Library are sponsoring the annual “Barbara Roberts Memorial Bridge Walk” on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. Participants will meet at the white gazebo in Richardi Park at 10 a.m. and then walk to the trestle bridge, the Warner Bridge, the Bridge Street Bridge and return to the gazebo.

Arts & Crafts Show

There will be an Arts and Crafts Show on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on River Street in Elk Rapids. Over 60 artists and crafters will be on display. 

 

Torch Lake Labor Day Art & Craft Show

The third annual Labor Day weekend Art and Craft Show returns in downtown Alden at the Depot Park on Saturday, Sept. 3 through Monday, Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and is presented by Blue Ribbons Events. Shop unique art, gifts, jewelry and home décor. Don’t forget to stop by the downtown stores for their annual summer sidewalk sales.

Open House & Blazer Bash

Kalkaska Public Schools is having an open house and blazer bash on Thursday, Sept. 1. Come meet your teachers and check out your classroom. Birch Street Elementary is from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.; Cherry Street Intermediate is from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.; Rapid City Elementary is from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Get your schedule and check out where your classes are from 4 p.m.

Band Concert

The Brighter Day Band, a group of local musicians, will hold a concert to benefit the Antrim County Friends of Veterans, which purchases and installs American flags throughout the area will perform on Friday, Sept. 9 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Bellaire ASI Community Center and Park in Bellaire. A potluck meal will be served. Please bring a dish to pass.

Sundae Sunday

Grace Community Church is welcoming everyone on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. for worship and junior church for kids. Following the service is a free picnic with hamburgers, hot dogs and ice cream sundaes. The church is located at 1819 S. Main Street in Central Lake. All are welcome.

Closet to Closet

Closet to Closet will be held at the Forest Home Township Hall from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27. Gently used clothing will be given away free, in all sizes, for men, women and children. The Township Hall is located at 321 Bridge Street in Bellaire.

Chili Supper & Barn Dance

The public is invited to join the fun at Samels Farm on Saturday, Aug. 27 for a chili supper and barn dance. The Samels Family Heritage Society is hosting the event with the chili supper featuring four chilis including a vegetarian option, cornbread, coleslaw, beverages and desserts beginning at 5 p.m. with dancing starting at 6:30 p.m. led by the band Hammer’D.

Benefit Golf Outing

Antrim Habitat for Humanity and Bellaire and Elk Rapids Real Estate One offices are hosting their first Annual Benefit Golf Outing on Sunday, Aug. 21 at the Antrim Dells Golf Course., 12352 Antrim Dr. in Ellsworth. Cost is $100 per person for a four person scramble of 18 holes of golf with cart.

Jazz in the Hills

Pickle Ball Tournament
