Meet & Greet

There will be a meet and greet on Monday, Oct. 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Terrain Restaurant in downtown Bellaire. Everyone is invited to meet the board members of the Village of Bellaire Downtown Development (DDA). Light appetizers will be provided along with a cash bar. There is no admission fee. Motorcycle club opens in Mancelona

10 Pines Ranch is a family-owned motorcycle club. Ten families with different backgrounds, expertise, and plans, came together to  purchase 105 acres of heavily wooded land in the fall of 2021 and started planning and clearing the trees, according to a press release.

ACNA Member Meeting

Friends of the Antrim Creek Natural Area (ACNA) will be holding a member meeting on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. and then a open house and yard sale at the ACNA Schoolhouse on Old Dixie Road (just north of the south entrance to the natural area) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds from the sale will go to schoolhouse restoration projects.

Pink Sing

The Antrim County High Tea for Breast Cancer Prevention will be presenting Pink Sing, an awareness event for breast cancer prevention, on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 6-10 p.m. at Midnight Acres, 4565 Stover Road, Bellaire. Cost is $35 per person and includes a specialty cocktail, beer, wine, light meal, desserts and karaoke.

Art Beat 3 days of Art

Art Beat three days of art will be on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 29, 30 and Oct. 1 at the Mulllay’s 128 Gallery, 128 River St, Blue Heron Gallery, 131 Ames St. and Twisted Fish Gallery, 10443 S. Bayshore Dr. all in Elk Rapids. There will be gift certificate drawings. Visit all three galleries for a chance to win.

Central Lake Lions Club Golf Scramble

The Central Lake Lions Club will be holding their annual Golf Scramble on Monday, Sept. 26 at the Antrim Dells Golf Course. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with a 12 p.m. shotgun start. Walk For Hunger

Local churches in Bellaire, Alden, Mancelona and Rapid City are joining together to walk for hunger on Sunday, Sept. 25. Twenty-five percent of funds we are able to raise, goes directly to food pantries in the local communities. Please join us at 1:45 p.m. at the Forest Home Township Hall in Bellaire. The walk starts at 2 p.m. The walk is gentle.

Torch Lake Cruisers Car Show

Rapid City Heritage Festival presents Torch Lake Cruisers Car Show Motorcycles & Trucks on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Freedom Park West in Rapid City. Join other car enthusiasts for a fun day. The show will be located at Freedom Park West along beautiful Rapid River. Judging will take place with awards presented at 2:45 p.m.

Elk Rapids Fall Festival & Scarecrow Contest

The Downtown Elk Rapids Association is hosting a Fall Festival on River Street Saturday, Sept. 24, from 12- 4 p.m. This fourth Saturday in Sept. is also known as the second annual Michigan Downtown Day honoring and supporting downtowns and the small businesses located within.

Bellaire’s Harvest Festival

On Saturday, Sept. 24 the Bellaire Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its Annual Harvest Festival in downtown Bellaire from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Scarecrows, art and crafts, live music, food truck rally, pie eating contest, pumpkin painting at the library. Seed collection event with Kalkaska Conservation District

September 24th is National Public Lands Day! Join us for a morning of native seed collection on public land to celebrate. The collected seed will be cleaned and processed for use in the Kalkaska Seed Library and native plantings throughout Kalkaska. Meet at the KCD Office, 406 S. Cedar Street, Suite A, Kalkaska. The event will be held Saturday, Sept. 24 from 10:30 a.m.

The Old and the New

The Bellaire Museum and Friends of the Library will be sponsoring The Old and the New a “Visual on Big Screen” Vintage Bellaire thru Postcards collected and narrated by James Templin on Tuesday,  Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bellaire Library, 111 S. Bridge Street. There will be free popcorn. Donations will be accepted.

Victims Services Unit

The Antrim County Sheriff’s Department Victims Services Unit will meet on Monday,  Sept. 19 at 5:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Central Lake. The unit provides immediate, on-scene support for any surviving secondary victim of an unexpected death or serious trauma. A two-person team of volunteers is available 24/7, 365 days a year.
