The Kalkaska Senior Center is hosting a Halloween Party on Monday, Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. until at least 1 p.m. There will be a costume parade of students from Cherry Street Intermediate School (time to be determined) along with a spooky lunch and all manner of madness and mayhem for seniors including Mummy Wrap-Up, Roll-A Jack O’Lantern, Monster Mash Up, and more!
The Alba Sportsman’s Club Breakfast will be on Sunday, Oct. 16 from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Breakfast is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $5 for kids 10 and under. The monthly meeting will be held at 12 p.m. The Alba Sportsman’s Club is located at 5225 County Road 620. All are welcome to attend.
The Kalkaska County American Legion Post 480 hosts coffee and donuts on the second Wednesday of each month at the Kalkaska County Senior Center from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. On Wednesday, Oct. 12 there will be a guest speaker from Mid-Michigan Honor Flight who will provide information about the Honor Flight program. Honor Flight transports Veterans to Washington, D.C.
The Kalkaska United Methodist Church will be holding an Arts and Craft Show on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2525 Beebe Road. The fair will host a variety of crafters and artisans. Lunch will be available for purchase. This is a fundraiser for crafters and the church which has provided community meals for the community for 15 years.
The Central Lake Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Central Lake Cabin. There will be a cornhole tournament at Thurston Park at 3 p.m. To register for the tournament contact Steve at 231-676-0248.
The Central Lake Methodist Church is having a Swiss Steak Dinner To Go on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Pre-order today by texting or calling 231-350-2018 and leave name, number of dinners and phone number. Dinners will be ready by 5 p.m. Call the number when you arrive and someone will run your dinner out to your car.
Barnard Grange Hall will be hosting a Music, Dance and Potluck at the Barnard Grange on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Barnard Grange Hall, 15975 Klooster Road in Charlevoix at the corner of Barnard Road and Klooster Road (parking lot). Brighter Day band will be performing. $7 donations are requested. Bring a dish to pass potluck starts at 4:30 p.m.
