K-12 Veterans Day Assembly

Bellaire Public School will be having a K-12 Veterans Day Assembly on Friday, November 11 at 9 a.m. in the Bellaire High School gym. There will be refreshments for the Veterans after the assembly. All Veterans, community members and families are invited to attend.

Chili Dinner

The Central Lake Fire Auxillary Chili Dinner will be held on Saturday, November 5 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the station on Main Street (M88). Several varieties of chili, cornbread, dessert and drink all by donations.

Pancake Breakfast

The Bellaire Masonic Lodge is having a pancake breakfast on the last Saturday of each month. This month is Saturday, October 29 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, coffee and juice for $10. Please support the Bellaire Masonic Lodge by enjoying a delicious breakfast.

Understanding the U.S. Constitution

In part two of “Understanding our U.S. Constitution” Bellaire Public Library is sponsoring a program to review the U.S. Constitutional Amendments on Thursday, October 27 at 4 p.m. in the library. This session will include an online presentation and then time for questions. This is an educational program, so personal or partisan interpretations won’t be discussed.

Neighborhood Trunk or Treat

Monday, October 31, 2022 - 5:00pm to 7:00pm

There will be a Neighborhood Trunk or Treat on Monday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Ellsworth Community Park Pavilion. There will be food, activities, fun, music, photo props, hayrides and more. There will be a haunted House at Banks Township Fire Station. Good Samaritan Food Pantry will be holding a canned food drive.

2022 Academea Club Silent Auction

The 2022 Academea Club will be holding a silent auction on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Kalkaska United Methodist Church, 2525 Beebe Road. Bidding begins at 9 a.m. and closes at 10:30 a.m. New and handemade items, gift certificates, baked goods and more. Bring a friend, enjoy refreshments and great shopping. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Academea Club scholarships and projects.

Trunk or Treat

Alden has a Halloween celebration that has become a tradition. Sprigs N Sprouts Preschool will hold its annual Trunk or Treat event at the Alden United Methodist Church parking lot on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Church members and daycare families will be ready with open trunks and lots of goodies.

Halloween Party

The Kalkaska Senior Center is hosting a Halloween Party on Monday,  Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. There will be a costume parade of students from Cherry Street Intermediate School along with a spooky lunch and all manner of madness and mayhem for seniors including Mummy Wrap-Up, Roll-A Jack O’Lantern, Monster Mash Up and more. Lunch will be served at 12 p.m.

Help From My Friends Chili Cookoff & Silent Auction

Help From My Friends will be having a chili cookoff and silent auction on Sunday,  Oct. 23 at the Helena Township Hall in Alden from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Restaurants and chefs from around Antrim County donate their chili for this great Fundraiser. Enjoy a tasty all you can eat dinner while supporting animals.

Autumnfest at Grass River

Come out to Grass River Natural Area on Saturday,  Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and have some autumn fun. Your time will be filled with activities for all ages, including trick or treat trail on the boardwalk with “animal” encounters along the way, pumpkin pounding, fall arts and crafts and games. Feel free to come in costume.

Pasties Sale

The Central Lake Methodist Church is selling pasties on Thursday and Friday.  Oct. 20 and 21 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Methodist church. They are now taking pre-orders by texting 231-676-2989 or message only 231-544-6315. Suggested donation is $7.50.

Alba Sportsman’s Breakfast & Meeting

The Alba Sportsman’s Club Breakfast will be on Sunday,  Oct. 16 from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Breakfast is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $5 for kids 10 and under. The monthly meeting will be held at 12 p.m. The Alba Sportsman’s Club is located at 5225 County Road 620. All are welcome to attend.

Fiddle Jamboree

There will be a Fiddle Jamboree at the Kalkaska Senior Center on Saturday,  Oct. 15 from 1:30 to 4 p.m.; Circle of Friends from 4 to 5 p.m. and square and round dancing at 5 p.m. The senior center is located at 303 S. Coral Street in Kalkaska.

Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope

In an effort to form a more trauma informed community, the Live Well Kalkaska Substance Free Coalition is featuring a free public movie followed by a panel discussion on Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope on Saturday,  Oct. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kalkaska Church of Christ, 1725 W. Kalkaska Road. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
