Design Your Native Garden Workshop

Would you like to plant a native garden that works hard and is beautiful. Please join the Antrim Conservation District on Wednesday, April 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and design your native garden workshop. You will leave this wonderful workshop with plenty of information about native plants and a plan to create your own space. This is a free event but space is limited. Juniper Garden Club Spring Extravaganza & Open House

The Juniper Garden Club Spring Extravaganza and Open House will be on Thursday, April 10 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Helena Township Community Center, 8751 Helena Road in Alden. The garden club is celebrating its 92nd anniversary and founding of JGC. Learn about the history of the garden club. Yearbooks and photo albums will be on display for viewing. Books ‘n Brie Club

The Books ‘n Club will meet on Thursday, April 10 at 3:30 p.m. at the Alden District Library, Helena Township Community Center, 8751 Helena Road. The Price is Right

The Antrim Women’s Alliance is having an event called the Price is Right on Tuesday, April 8 at the Blue Pelican Inn in Central Lake from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be a cash bar, food, 50/50 drawing and lots of games. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door and includes a buffet, one game ticket, non-alcoholic drink, Plinko, putt putt, human slot machine, spin the wheel and name that price. Game tickets are $1 each with a chance to win the showcase showdown. You must be present to win. For more information contact 586-438-7310.

 

Isle Royale National Park

On Sunday, April 6 at 2 p.m. at the Alden District Library, Helena Township Community Center, 8751 Helena Road come and join us as we visit the Isle Royale National Park through the eyes of Judy Umlor. Come take a journey with Judy as she guides you through narrative and pictures of the limited diversity from Rock Harbor to Windigo in the big waters of Lady Superior as well as tips on how to make your visit there a successful and safe one. Lake Huron Mermaid

Authors Anne-Marie Oomen and Linda Nemec Foster will be at the Forest Home Township on Sunday, April 6 at 2 p.m. for a special weekend program based on their book, “The Lake Huron Mermaid”. A highly interactive program that will feature discussion and writer’s prompts. The event is open to adults and teens and is sponsored by the Bellaire Public Library. Christian Coffee House Concert

Book Sale

The Alden District Library is having its book sale on Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Available items for sale will be books, audio books, DVDs, music CDs and puzzles. This will be held at the Alden District Library, Helena Township Community Center, 8751 Helena Road. March & Sign Making

Citizens concerned with the state of the union and the chaos in Washington, please join us for the march against tyranny on Saturday, April 5 at 11 a.m. at Richardi Park in Bellaire. We will be making signs for the event at the Bellaire Library on Friday, April 4 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. This is not a partisan event. All are welcome to peacefully express concerns to the threats to our democracy. The walk will be through the Village of Bellaire to stand in solidarity for the rule of law and the Constitution of the United States of America.
