Grass River Natural Area (GRNA) along with the Pelican Family of Businesses is hosting Riverfest, an annual fundraiser. Tickets to the event which is being held at Shanty Creek on Wednesday, June 18 at 5:30 p.m. are $85 per person and includes live music, a live auction and gift card giving tree. Teens in Michigan are invited to participate in MiLibraryQuest this summer from Monday, June 15 through Thursday, July 31. The Alden District Library is involved and you can be too. Paintings have been stolen from museums across Michigan. The subjects of the paintings have come to life and left clues to where they’ve been taken and who might have done it. The Alden Strawberry Festival will be held on Sunday, June 15 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Alden Historical Depot. Celebrate fathers, family and friends with a trip to Alden and enjoy Fresh Strawberry Shortcake.
A No Kings Rally will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 11 a.m. Meet at the Antrim County Courthouse and bring friends and family. On Friday, June 13 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. make signs and paper masks at the Bellaire Public Library. This event is sponsored by the Antrim Action.
Church in the Hills is hosting a Blessing of the Boats on Saturday, June 14 (rain date is Sunday, June 15) at 11 a.m. on the grounds of the Dockside, 6340 Old Torch Lake Drive in Bellaire. Come and enjoy bestowing a spirit of thankfulness and mindfulness upon all who venture out on our lakes and rivers. It will be the blessing of the boats and Native American water blessing.
The Antrim County Snowmobile Club will be holding its 25th Annual Golf Scramble on Saturday, June 14 at the Centennial Golf Course, 3388 W. Eddy School Road in Bellaire. Registration starts at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Cost is $75 per golfer or $300 for a four person team. Sign up early and save. Mixed teams and women’s teams are welcome.
