Join the Kalkaska Conservation District for a full moon evening hike on Wednesday, January 11. Meet at Smith Lake Road NW, 1 mile north of Island Lake Road, at the intersection of the TC to K Trail (former NCT route) at 6 p.m. Look for the Conservation District event signs and the blue blazes.

Recycle your Christmas Tree at the Antrim Conservation District between Tuesday, January 3 thru Thursday, January 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drop off your real Christmas tree at the Antrim Conservation District office, 4820 Stover Road, Bellaire. No lights, no decorations. Trees must be completely clean without debris, rope, plastic or wire.

Veterans Coffee Hour

The Kalkaska County American Legion Post 480 hosts coffee and donuts on the second Wednesday of each month at the Kalkaska County Senior Center from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The senior center is located at 303 S. Coral, Kalkaska. On Wednesday, Dec. 14 there will be a guest speaker from Mid-Michigan Honor Flight who will provide information about the Honor Flight program.

Bells at the Antrim County Courthouse

On Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. bells at the Antrim County Courthouse will ring three times as it was 100 years ago that the clock and bells first rang out on Dec. 14, 1922. The chimes can be heard all over the village vicinity. Listen and mark your calendar to hear them.

Breakfast with Santa

Breakfast with Santa will be on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Banks Township Hall in Ellsworth. Bring your family and enjoy a free breakfast including gifts for the children. Santa, Mrs. Claus and Elves will be present. There will be a photographer and photos with Santa. Food donations for the Good Samaritan Family Pantry will be collected.
